2019- full Glossier. Review

Hello my loves hope you’re all well, its been a hot minute. Things in my world have been a bit all over the show.

Anyways I thought I would finally write this well over due blog post about the bits and bobs I bought off Glossier shortly after Christmas

My New Years resolution was to take care of my skin a bit better as I have somewhat lacked in moistening and just generally taking care of myself in previous months. After seeing lots and lots of suggested videos on YouTube and lots of adverts on Instagram I finally decided to take a proper look at what glossier was really about, especially as everything I had heard was on the most part good. Glossier brands there products as “skin first, makeup second” which is something I personally love the sound of. I can hopefully speak for everyone when I say that I used to believe that if I bought the best makeup it would instantly make my complexion\ skills better, but now that I’ve really researched and tested out different products I’ve realised just how complex it really is.

Firstly I just wanted to say how much I love their packaging!!!It’s so so cute and pretty and most importantly pink! The little wallets that everything came in are really lovely and would be perfect for travelling with to ensure extra padding for your powdered products.

As I mentioned previously a skincare routine was at top of my list. while searching for bits online.

I came across the skincare bundle, This includes a moisturiser, cleanser and lip balm and retails for £35.

Firstly lets start with their priming moisturiser. I had heard a lot of mixed reviews on this product being mostly okay,I have to say I agree with everyone else and say it simply does the job.

Being honest I think it does act as a nice primer and my makeup does sit smoothly on top but I wouldn’t say its revolutionary and that I would want everyone I know to

img_0068-3go out and grab one. I would simply say it’s a nice product but for the individual price of £18 I wont be repurchasing again, especially as I know there’s better things on the market for sometimes a fraction of the price.I think maybe if you struggle with oily skin and don’t want a really thick cream to pop on before your makeup then this is defiantly something to consider. But as I prefer something with a bit most hydration this just wasn’t for me

The next thing is probably one of my favourite things I have ever purchased skin care wise.

I just find it works perfectly for me and is just generally a really beautiful product. I’m talking about the milky jelly cleanser. It’s gentle, silky and light weight on the skin. Ive heard a lot of people say that its just you’re A-Typical hydrating cleanser but I really do notice the difference from when i use it vs when I don’t. I also really like the subtle rose scent, I find it really soothing especially as I use it before I go to bed. Price wise I don’t think it’s the worst especially for skincare, when buying it individually away from the set you can pick from 2 different sizes, the mini which has 60ml and costs £8 and the full size which contains 177ml and is £15. I really like the fact you can purchase 2 different sizes of this, nothing worse then spending money on something to find out it either doesn’t agree with you or you simply don’t like it.

I really would recommend this product and I will %100 be repurchasing this.img_0070-1

If you’re wondering if this will work for your skin type I think that this is a good one for everyone its hydrating but doesn’t leave an oily residue behind. For me going forward it’s a must have!

The third and final product that comes in this set is the balm dotcom .you can choose from 6 different scents which all sounded delicious, but I couldn’t seem to decide so I stuck with my favourite which is mint.

I was a bit sceptical about this lip balm as a close friend of mine really struggled to get on with it, as it kept giving her spots above her lip!

The product is really thick and I think that is why Elly was struggling to use it as it was blocking her pores.

With this in mind I cautiously used it to give it a fair shot and I can honestly say that its just not that great. I really didn’t find my lips to be less chapped , in fact i would say they were far worse than before and I was using an alarming amount in such a short amount of time. Even though the lip balm didn’t give me spots above my lip I still just wasn’t overly happy with the way it worked for me, which is a shame because I really wanted to like it especially because of the really visually pleasing packaging! It’s individual price is £10 which to me is a bit steep for a lip balm. I think I will just continue to use my trusty burst bees one in the future.

Overall the skin care set was okay I wasn’t overly wowed but I do like the money saving element of buying the set.. you save £8 from buying the 3 products together rather than getting them separately which is nice a good deal I think.

While I was on the ‘saving on sets’ tab I saw the makeup set which retails for £35 and contains a liquid blush, mascara and brow gel.

Another big resolution for the new year was to be more true to myself, in other terms I wanted to be more natural with how I present myself and also in how I behave, I think its very easy to quickly morph yourself into something you’re not.

With this is mind I was looking at lots of brands and products to try and inhale my own natural beauty, and I have to say glossier really did come out on top when I came to reviews.

The first and most recommended thing out of the entire makeup range is probably the cloud paint, I chose the colour dusk out of the 6 options as it’s a muted nude shade and I’m not a bright blush kinda gal.

They individually retail for £15 which for the limited product of 10ml its a-bit pricey and can easily be wasted as the packaging has a wild life of its own.

I was abit scared to try this product as I really Don’t wear too much colour on my cheeks, so I was fearful that I would look like coco the clown if I applied too much, but it blends beautifully.

I apply it in two ways depending on how much colour I desire with the amount of makeup I’m wearing. The first is I will apply a small drop on the back of my hand and then Will apply it to the apples of my cheeks with a stipple brush. I find that this applies a lot more of a subtle pop of colour. I really like popping this across the bridge of my nose as well as it creates a stunning sun kissed glow, almost as if the sun has caught my nose. The second way I apply this is with my finger tips, again I will apply a small amount the the back of my hand and then I dot it across my cheeks and nose to create abit more of a intense colour. The warmth of your fingers seems to blend this out in the ideal way, rather than some liquid blushes which remove your base layer when blending them out.

Overall I do like this product and I do think I would purchase it again a I do find it pretty, but It would be nice if the price point was abit lower or they upped the amount of product inside.

I’m actually very excited to talk about the next product as it has changed the eyebrow game for me and is a number one best seller for a very good reason. If you’re a makeup fanatic like me then I’m sure you’ll know that I’m talking about the boy brow.

I am very very particular about what I apply on my eyebrows and when I find something I don’t tend to branch out of my comfort zone, but I’ve never been so pumped to receive a new eyebrow product before. If you were to purchase this separately it would cost you £14 which I would say is and okay price for such an amazing little product. You can chose from 3 tinted shades and 1 clear, which is what I decided to go for as I really struggle to find a good match for my hair colour.

This is everything you could dream for in an eyebrow product, it thickens sand fluffs them out like nothing I’ve tried before and they really do stay in place without that really nasty crunchy, cement feeling that I’ve so often had with other products.

The fact the “clear” shade is actually white was a bit daunting to begin with, but as soon as you start to apply it you cant see any pigment.

If you could only pick from one product on the website I would definitely tell you to get this. I will 10000% be repurchasing this one!

The last product in this bundle is the ‘lash stick’ which is a mascara. Ill be honest and say that I haven’t really noticed a amazing property of this product, I think it does a lovely job at lengthening your lashes and the brush is really good but I do find it to be a really wet mascara and personally I just seem to get it abit everywhere. I think my heart still lies with benefits ‘bad girl bang”

It retails for £14 too which to me just isn’t worth the money, you can pay out an extra £6 you can get something far greater.

Ultimately this is okay but its nothing to run out and get. I would save your money for one of glossier better products.

In total this set valued at £35 and if you bought the products separately it would come to the total value of £43, so by buying the three together you save another £8.

You’re all going to be really shocked to know I’ve got another set to talk about!

This one is abit of a no brainier to me. To buy the “wowder’ on its own is £18 and to buy the coinciding brush its £16… which is steep for an almost travel sized fluffy brush,But to buy them together it costs £30. I know abit odd right? Anyways even though the price side of this product confused me a little the quality of it certainly does not. This powder is, soft and smooth and is milled so finely you wouldn’t believe that its not your skin. Paired with the final product I’m going to talk about it makes the best airbrushed, dewy skin look I’ve ever experienced with any base/powder duo. I really do like the combination of the two. Colour wise I would have loved for them to have a translucent rather than, light/medium.. medium/dark etc etc. I find that if I apply to much of the powder my under eye area can sometimes blend in with the rest of my face which I’m not a massive fan of, but I can defiantly over look as it gives such a baby faced finish.

I like the design of the packaging with the net dispenser, I think it makes it so much easier to get product rather than the usual plastic Holed cover.

As for the brush, there really isn’t much to say. It applies the powder nicely, but I certainly wouldn’t pay out £16 for it.

I’m really sad to say that this is the final product of my haul/ Review.

’stretch concealer’ is the only product I bought that wasn’t apart of a set simply because of how amazing all the reviews are. I mentioned earlier that the idea behind glossier products is that they’re natural and fresh, so by no means is this concealer going to cover acne scars or highly pigmented dark circles.it creates a flawless glow in the area you need it the most, I mostly like to use it under my eyes. I do find that this product does crease if not set properly but other than that I cant really easy a bad word, I think the packaging is super luxurious, the formula is creamy and soft an blends beautifully to create the illusion of flawless skin. I really really do love it.. again if you had to buy only one of two products from them I would suggest this and boy brow. A must have by all accounts. Shade range wise it would be nice to see a bigger growth but 12 shade isn’t the worst I’ve seen.

Thank you all so much for reading along and listening to my rambles, it truly does mean the world to me.

Ive worked so hard on this post to make it the best it can be.

So it really does mean everything.

. I promise that i will try not to leave it this long, i hope you’re all well! Speak soon!

Much love Xoxo
